Telugu Superstar Prabhas Criticised by Arshad Warsi in a Podcast
Months after the release of Kalki 2898 AD, which dominated the box office, Arshad Warsi attacked Prabhas' performance in the movie.

Kalki, the movie that ruled the box office and minted 1000 crores, got mixed reviews from Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi. In an unapologetic statement, Arshad Warsi criticised Prabhas's portrayal during the podcast with Samdish Bhatia. He said Prabhas appeared like a "joker" in the movie despite applauding Amitabh Bachchan for his outstanding performance.
It was a shocker as he exclaimed, ‘’I watched 'Kalki' and didn’t like it... Amit ji’s performance was so incredible. He’s mind-blowingly amazing. I can't comprehend his talent. If we had even a fraction of his power, our lives would be set.’’
‘’Prabhas, I am really sad. Why was he... he was like a joker. Why? I want to see a Mad Max. I want to see Mel Gibson over there. Tumne usko kya bana dia yaar. Kyu karte ho aisa mujhe nahi samajh mein aata,’’ he added.
Claimed to be a fusion of science fiction and the Hindu epic Mahabharata, the high-budget movie, which is produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, hit theatres nationwide on June 27.
The cast of Kalki 2898 AD included Kamal Haasan as Supreme Yaskin, Amitabh Bachchan as Ashwathama, Prabhas as Bhairava, Deepika Padukone as Sumati, and Disha Patani as Roxie. Additional cameos in the film included Dulquer Salmaan, Vijay Deverakonda, SS Rajamouli, Mrunal Thakur, and Ram Gopal Varma. Kalki was released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. At the global box office, the movie brought in over Rs 1,000 crores.
